The Yellowstone Art & Photography Center was located right next to Old Faithful in the historic Haynes building.

For a few years it served as a gallery space, working studio/ apartment for Artists-in-Residence, retail store for Yellowstone Forever, and art activity center open to the public.

We created a variety of art activities, special event activities, digital downloads, and social media-ready GIFs all designed to engage visitors with Yellowstone. To tie everything together, we used the intentionally vague theme of simple shapes.

Two of my favorite initiatives were a color-your-own postcard activity, and a button activity!

The National Park Service loved our work and invited us to collaborate with them on a series of “Elements of” bifold pamphlets that both of our organizations could use to supplement our summer arts programming in Yellowstone. We did three pamphlets: Art, Writing, and Photography.

Special thanks to Ranger Bianca Klein for kicking off that initiative!
